Jim Johnson
VP of Business Development and Client Services

Jim Johnson brings more than 15 years of management experience to his role as EffectiveUI’s VP of business development and client services, leading and mentoring the company’s sales, business development, account management and project management teams. Among his responsibilities: helping to drive business and revenue through strategic relationship building; ensuring customer acquisition and account profitability and analyzing market competitiveness; pricing, compensation and distribution and channel strategy to achieve and exceed EffectiveUI’s revenue goals.

Jim joined EffectiveUI in 2008 as an account manager and has worked with such high-profile clients as Premiere Global Services, TriGeo and Qwest Communications. He was instrumental in coordinating a partnership with Qwest to redesign its business customer portal, a site produced by incorporating the user experience tools and priorities on which EffectiveUI thrives.

In his role within EffectiveUI’s executive management team, Jim develops the company’s sales strategies to drive new business and support existing accounts, streamline account management and sales processes and cultivate consistently positive relationships with clients.

Jim’s extensive business background dates back to 1992, when he managed a sales team and provided technical sales solutions to DirecTV clients as a senior account manager. He continued his career in management and development roles in interactive multimedia development and was integral to boosting revenues for companies such as Capella Education Company, Intellinex (now ACS) and Local Matters. In his 17 years in business and technology leadership, Jim has helped companies attain top line revenue of as much as $80 million a year and managed as many as 30 employees.

His professional affiliations include The Kelsey Group, a New Jersey-based firm offering research, analysis and data to those working in the media marketplace.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications from Michigan State University.
